Why Brothers Blend?

We created Brothers Blend as a result of searching for the best way to feed our own cats.  At 8 years old, they were overweight and lethargic.  Their health was generally good, but it wasn't getting better.  They were lazy.  They wouldn't play or do much of anything.  After reading and studying what others were saying about the subject of feeding cats, it was clear that we needed to consider feeding them raw meat, like they would kill and eat if they were feral, roaming wild.  Suffice to say, the idea of breeding or buying frozen white mice to feed to them was just a little more than we could deal with.  So, we mixed together lean choice beef with lesser amounts of vegetables and grains and chopped it up to make "artificial mice".  We made batches of this food and froze it into meal-sized chunks to thaw each day and serve as fresh as when it was made.

This is probably where we need to include the disclaimer "Actual Testimonial.  Results not Typical." but, what happened was amazing.  Within 3 months they had gone from over 15 lbs. to about 12.  They now wrestled with each other after breakfast and gained a strong interest in playing with toys.  Their fur was better and their eyes seemed brighter and clearer.  A visit to the vet's office the next spring came with surprise and compliments.  They've had no sign of urinary tract problems even though their age, sex (or lack thereof) and lifestyle makes them prime candidates for it.

In years following, we taught others to make this food for their cats and continued to experiment with ways to make and package it for maximum convenience.  But, truth be told, making this stuff slowly by hand was NOT a lot of fun.  I could clearly see that most people just didn't have the passion or time to make a batch of this stuff every few weeks, good as it was.

As time went by, more and more people we knew told us, "You should MAKE this stuff and sell it!"  I heard this often and long enough that I finally felt the Cosmic 2-by-4 smack me in the head, and I GOT it.  So, here we are.  We're making and selling this super-quality cat food to anybody who loves their cat(s), but doesn't have the time or inclination to make great pet food painstakingly by hand.  We get the ingredients, mix and grind them up, and freeze the food in convenient daily-serving pouches.  You send us money and you get healthier, happier cats.  What could be better?

The simple answer to the question, "Why Brothers Blend?" is this:  There is a need and a desire for a convenient top-quality cat food.  We believe we can fill that need with great service and Brothers Blend.
